When is the next citizenship ceremony in Canada?

Citizenship ceremonies in Canada are held regularly across the country and are scheduled by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). However, there is no single national calendar listing all future ceremonies due to varying schedules by province and city. Ceremonies can take place weekly or monthly depending on the location and the volume of applicants ready to take the oath.

Once your application is approved, IRCC will send you a citizenship ceremony notice, either by email or regular mail, usually 1 to 4 weeks before the scheduled date. This notice will include the date, time, location (or video link if online), and instructions for the ceremony.

Ceremonies are held both in-person and virtually. Virtual ceremonies became common during the COVID-19 pandemic and have continued to some extent to improve accessibility.

To find out when the next ceremony is in your area, you must wait for IRCC to send your invitation. Alternatively, if you’ve passed the test and are awaiting the ceremony, you can check your application status online through the IRCC portal or GCKey account. There is no way to self-book a ceremony.
